Back when I released Mailboat V: The End of Summer, my very first Patrons and I had so much fun, we just had to get together during my Lake Geneva book tour to meet in-person.

And while we were there, they did something incredibly sweet for me: They got up in front of a camera and talked about why they loved being one of my paying Patreon fans.

They did it for me, to help grow more support for me and my art.

And they did it for you, to help you decide whether or not my paid Patreon tiers are a good fit for you. They did it so you can get a glimpse into what happens when you support me on Patreon, what you get in return, and what kind of fun we all have here.

In fact, if this video demonstrates anything, I think it’s the insane level of fun we had writing Mailboat V together side-by-side, getting to know each other, and finally meeting each other in person.

Before posting this video here, I showed it to the members who participated in it, and they commented on what happy memories it brought back! I know they’re thrilled to finally follow along again while I release the chapters from my latest book.

The tier we call “The Captain’s Log” contains what the Veteran Patrons and I consider to be the core experience we invented together when we first launched our Patreon:

  • Chapter Releases just as soon as I’m done writing them.
  • Book Club Questions where you can delve deeper into the story and the characters with your fellow fans, converse with me, and potentially even alter the course of the story through your conversations.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Posts where you’ll learn tons about me, my personal backstory, and how I write a novel; the inspiration that went into the series, each book, and every chapter; and the conversations and interactions I have with the characters who live in my head.

But I also have tiers above and below, to suit many different budgets, or many different cravings for reward hauls.

And remember, if you join by Thursday, September 18th, you’ll also get to choose one of my 100% unique handmade bookmarks! These are first come, first serve, so don’t miss out!

Those fans who join me on Patreon are really special to me. It’s incredibly hard to make it as an artist–and these are the people who are determined to see me succeed, come hail or high water.

To them, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

And for those of you who subscribe… I’ll see you REALLY SOON with Chapter Releases from Mailboat VI!

What Are Your Questions?

While we wait for those posts to release, I won’t be surprised if many people reading this have questions or concerns. Please put them in the comments below! If you’re wondering, there are probably lots of people who are wondering. So, ask your questions, and I’ll do my best to answer.

Happy Sailing,

~ Danielle
