It’s time for fall reading!

Walking out to my car one day this week, I noticed dry, red leaves scattered across the pavement–and instantly started kicking and stomping. It’s autumn! Cue those chunky sweaters, mugs of hot coco, and cozy little bookstores. I feel like people are getting a jump start on the spooky season this year. Everywhere I look, I see pumpkins and ghosties.

I was looking for a new set of book recommendations for you (‘cuz the last set turned out to be such a hit with y’all), and I found a roundup calling itself “Uneasy and Uncomfortable Reads.”

And well, If that didn’t sound seasonally appropriate.

Below are the book covers I thought would tempt you the most. So much mystery to choose from, with all different levels of spook!

And if you’re really craving those chilling vibes, this roundup also includes piles of paranormal, horror, dark fantasy, and weird sci-fi. Altogether, there are some 40 titles to browse. What they all have in common is that sense of something going bump in the night…

Be warned! Enter at your own risk…

If you find something in the list you like, please share the link with your friends! This roundup represents dozens of hard-working and very creative authors, for whom every sale makes a huge difference in their ability to keep giving you entertainment you love.

I wanted to add to this list a book I personally read and enjoyed, The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. It’s crime fiction set in 18th-century Maine, based off a real-life midwife who actually helped solve a case involving rape and murder. Like me, Ariel Lawhon prioritizes her research, and she nailed the look and feel of the times, as well as those chilly-season vibes. Ten out of ten, would read one of her books again.

Have fun browsing for your next read–and don’t forget to share these titles with your friends!
