How thrilling to have a behind the scene look at Bailey’s life and dreams. The mystery part leaves you wanting more.

  2. Sam Petitto

Danielle has done it again. I find myself looking forward to her next book in the Mailboat series before I’ve even finished reading the latest one.

  3. Nancy Diestler

The Girl on the Boat draws you into a web of mystery and suspense. As the reader gets to know and love the characters, their lives become imbedded in the heart as their stories are introduced and unfold. I love reading more about my favorite characters, and hold my breath as Bailey tries out for the mailboat jumper position! Highly recommend!

  4. Kimberly

This little gem of a book will give you an nice peek into the exciting world of a picturesque town, Lake Geneva. There are wonderful characters to meet and plenty of mystery to solve. If you haven’t dived in to the Mailboat series yet, this is a great starting point! If you are already a Mailboat fan you will love finding out more background on your favorite characters!

I’m usually not a big fan of prequels as they’re often just a way for an author to tell us things they haven’t figured out how to include in their novels. Danielle Lincoln Hanna is, however, not a run of the mill author and The Girl on the Boat is not your ordinary prequel.

Setting the scenes for the rest of the series, this book introduces us to Bailey, Monica, and Tommy and the world of Lake Geneva. Even after reading the first three books in the series, I didn’t actually understand just how hard the job of the mail jumper is.

The Girl on the Boat is a great introduction into the twisty mind of Danielle Lincoln Hanna and an all around great read.

The Girl on the Boat really whets your appetite for the rest of the Mailboat book series. Danielle Lincoln Hanna gives us more insight into three of the series’ main characters; Bailey, Tommy, and Monica; and leaves us with hints to the overall mystery. For readers of the Mailboat series, The Girl on the Boat is a great read while we wait for the next book. And if you haven’t started the series, this is a great place to start.

Too many unresolved issues. Not happy with it.

I received this book as a gift and just LOVED it. Danielle Hanna has topped my “favorite author” list for a while now and she never disappoints. Having read the other books in the series already, I was worried that this one would somehow seem cheesy or “less” than the others as I often find myself disappointed in other author’s novellas. That was certainly not the case here. What I loved is that if you have not read any of the other Mailboat books, this could be a great start. And, yet, having read the others, I was very happy with this story. It felt like a flashback in the current series and gave a great sneak peek into the storyline. And, just when I thought the story was over, Danielle managed to leave us with a little “twist.” This was a very good read and fabulous addition to the rest of the series. Can’t wait for more!
