I genuinely love December: Spicy evergreens. Glittering snow. Pops of red, silver, and gold. Twinkle lights. Hot beverages and tasty treats…

But the thing I’ve always loved most is telling and re-telling our favorite stories—whether it be a boy with a drum, a Victorian gentleman haunted by three ghosts, or a jolly old man with his flying reindeer.

When I was very little, my mother taught me that Santa was “just a story”—but rather than reducing his influence, this enlightenment only enhanced his mystique in my mind. Santa is not immortal because of magic, but because his stories never die.

I’ve been awed by and enamored with the power of story ever since.

In keeping with that early trajectory of associating the holidays with storytelling, I love gifting books for Christmas. (Especially to my impressionable young nieces and nephews, at least one of whom I have proudly converted into a hopeless bookworm.)

And in case you, too, want to perpetuate the tradition of telling stories at Christmas, I wanted to be sure you know that Monday, December 9th is your last chance to order books from me and have them arrive in time for Christmas.

My books are appropriate for ages 13 and up. So whether you’re passionate about books in general, mystery stories, beautiful Lake Geneva, or the Mailboat Suspense Series (I’m very flattered, if that’s the case!), I can provide a memorable gift for the bookworms on your list. Any order you place right now will include a special Mailboat bookmark, too! To simplify your shopping, I can ship your gift directly to the recipient. And you can even request a “to/from” gift tag with your own personalized message—so they know it’s from you! These tags are hand-made by me, and each is one-of-a-kind—because I am a creative menace and I cannot be stopped.
